Stop what you’re doing – there is a new Harry Potter Haggadah for Passover! After I got news of this creation in my inbox, I knew I had to share it.

The Unofficial Hogwarts Haggadah is 148 pages long (way longer than my parents’ old grocery store haggadahs) and is written by Rabbi Moshe Rosenberg of Congregation Etz Chaim of Kew Gardens Hills, New York. The text has both Hebrew and English, and compares and contrasts the Exodus, slavery, and the education of our muggle world versus the magical wizarding world.
I haven’t seen it in person yet myself, but according to The Jerusalem Post, the Orthodox rabbi compares the four sons (of the four questions) to members of the four houses at Hogwarts (Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin) and ponders if goblins would be able to sell their hametz, given their views on property ownership.

The Harry Potter-themed songs, to be sung in the key of Passover staples like Chad Gadya might be a bit much…but you can be the judge of that.
